Not all cycling tours are equal, which is a good fit for you?
Hors Category Tours This is our highest level and most physically demanding tour level. ALL riders would need have very good endurance / strength, be very experienced cyclists and possess a VERY high level of descending skill. These tours are extremely challenging with ride distances sometimes close to 200km and average daily climbing between 3000 - 5000m. Not for the feint-hearted or inexperienced rider.
Category One Tours These tours are very challenging and riders who sign up should be confident in their climbing endurance, to the point where riding 4-5 consecutive days is not a problem. Average ride distances would be 90 - 110km and most would include between 2000 - 3000m of climbing. A good level of descending proficiency is also essential as these tours always include a significant amount of quite technical descending.
Category Two Tours These tours are for riders with a moderate level of experience (2-3 years including some climbing / descending) and a good level of endurance. Ride distances will range from 70-100km and usually include 1500 - 2000m of climbing. Riders will also need to be competent descenders, confidently able to handle their bikes at speed, corner safely and ride comfortably in a group.
