At Icon Bike Tours we understand your decision to take a cycling tour. We know that there is a huge amount invested; time, energy, money and often sacrificing a holiday usually set aside for the family. With this in mind, we work very hard to ensure that your tour is everything you hoped for and more, a true bucket list adventure.
We stay away from the hustle and bustle of big cities, and live like locals in beautiful towns close to the climbs. Whether it's nestled somewhere in the foot of the Australian, Italian or French Alps, you will be comfortably accommodated in friendly chalets and hotels. Our Aussie tours to Tour Down Under in Adelaide or training camps in Bright and the Gold Coast also offer a great cycling experience, soaking up local cafes, beaches, and mountains.
Here is a little of what we build into each tour, ensuring a unique and fulfilling experience for all that sign up:
Challenging courses on the world's most beautiful roads, the ride experience is our number one priority.
Support from experienced guides offering technical, moral and nutritional assistance as needed.
A chance to sample local fresh food and cuisine, and enjoy local wines and beers.
Stay in cycling-friendly, locally authentic accommodation. We usually stay 4 - 6 days in each location so we don't have to pack up and change hotels every day, creating more time to ride and relax!
Some riding on roads that few (if any) other tours visit, the roads less travelled.
Some big days built around shorter ones to allow you to soak up all that these wonderful places have to offer.
A sprinkling of "local experiences" such as swimming in Lake Annecy in France, local markets, the odd cable car ride to the roof of the Dolomites or a stroll through the UNESCO listed Sottoguda Gorge.
A "raw-boned challenge day" in the mountains, such as an individual TT of the passo Giau or a personal lap of the incredibly challenging Marmotte Loop.
At Icon Bike Tours, our trips have something for everyone and we are confident that your cycling dream will come true.
