The Icon Bike Tours alpine training camp in Bright is a unique opportunity to combine a cycling tour to Australia’s most beautiful cycling landscape, with fully coached and directed training sessions. Covering all aspects of cycling technique, we include field testing which allows the coaches to determine riding focus and intensity for the duration of the camp.
Our alpine training camps offer a genuine opportunity to replicate the feeling of climbing the world’s greatest peaks, with the Mt Hotham and Falls Creek climbs both close to 30km in length. Add to this the incredible Mt Buffalo and the well kept secret of Mt Stanley and you have Australia's most delightful and challenging climbing (and descending) experiences in the one package.
The Alpine Region
The north-eastern “alpine” corner of Victoria is absolutely superb and the perfect place to experience cycling in the high mountains. The region is home to Australia’s highest and most dramatic mountain roads, including the country’s highest paved surface to the summit of Mt Hotham at 1830m, you can sometimes get the feeling that you are indeed already in the mountains of Europe. This is without a doubt THE cycling town in Australia with an energy and level of challenge to match most places in Europe

Training Camp Highlights & Features
What to Expect: A fantastic cycling experience in Australia’s highest terrain. You will learn a lot about riding in the mountains, both going up and down. You will be challenged and pushed at times, but on balance this will be five days you will remember fondly forever. Expect some lovely weather (only a slight chance of cold / wet days), a great time with like-minded people and excellent healthy food choices. You will receive great coaching and advice and come home from the training camp a smarter and more complete bike rider.
None of the cafes in town open early enough to eat breakfast prior to leaving for each days ride, so we will be heading into town on Thursday afternoon to allow guests to purchase breakfast supplies and snacks. This allows guests to prepare breakfast and ride nutrition in the cabins before we leave for our daily rides.
